Why should we give an additional donation?
Your additional donation helps us donate more products to those in need. It helps us provide the best quality ingredients and get the most bang for our buck to help as many people as we can at once.
What items will you be donating?
We will offer items such as:
BumBalm/Rash Creams, Tallow Based Moisturizers, Oil Cleansers, Dry Cleansers, Face Masks, Tallow-based Deodorants, Bar Soap, Lip Balm, Kitchen Soap, Oil Rollers, Natural Mosquito Repellant, Natural Headache Cream, Natural After-Sun Cream/Oil and more as we formulate recipes.
*We have crafted cost-effective and efficient skincare recipes for our donation items. While they may vary slightly from our online products, they provide comparable benefits at a reduced cost. This strategy allows us to offer top-quality, all-natural items without raising our online prices for the products we offer to our customers. With these additional funds, we will be able to not only donate more products, but occasionally offer products identical to the website products on special occasions such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, to offer the staff members the ability to hand them out on patron's birthdays, anniversaries etc. as well.
Why is this so important to you?
Easy! There have been a few times that our own family required the help of others and relied on food pantry donations to feed and cloth our family.
Our biggest focus is to give something special back to those in need. To give someone who is struggling financially the motivation to keep going. SOMETHING for them to be excited about and treat themselves with.
Often times the items donated are items that no one wants, the clothing has stains and holes. The clothing is out of style and on the verge of falling apart. They donate items that they feel bad about throwing into the trash.
Often times the food donated for families to pick up are canned items that people find in the back of their cupboards that they themselves won't eat. Its expired or close to expired food items that can sometimes be stale. This can have a negative impact on families who have fallen on hard times and require/rely on the donations of others to supply their families with the basics. We know this first hand here at The Rogue Hippie. Our Founder/Creator was a young single mother who relied on the generosity and donations of others. In her late teens/early 20s, Kacey was also involved in the development + implementation of the first (in her area) grocery store-to-food pantry donation funnel where they were able to donate instead of throw out/waste food that was still very much edible, but illegal for the grocery stores to continue to stock on their shelves. This allowed more perishable, frozen, and refrigerated items to be donated to those in need and providing them with healthier options than what was previously available.
How would that make you feel , when you are already down on yourself for needing help to begin with?
Would you be filled with confidence, or would you feel embarrassed?
Would you feel motivated, or would you feel hopeless?
Would you feel proud, or would you feel defeated?
Kacey can tell you from experience how it feels to go to job interviews in hand-me-down clothing that had to be hand repaired by herself prior to arriving for her appointment. She can tell you what its like to negotiate with a librarian to trade work for the cost to print off resumes to hand out to employers. She can tell you what it feels like when you find a hidden gem in donations where the clothing not only has the tag on it, but its your size, AND its still in style. She can tell you what its like to find quality frozen meet, when everything else in the pantry is items that you're allergic to. She can tell you how exciting it feels to find spices donated that arent open and used. She can tell you how it can turn around your entire life and mood when someone donates your favorite Milo's iced tea both in bottle forms AND in a whole gallon jug.
She has lived that life where she went from being able to afford to support herself and her child, to needing help from the donations from those willing to help through no fault of her own. She knows what its like to have to find a safe spot at Walmart to park and sleep for the night (and she can tell you how exhausting it is when you're too afraid to fall asleep because its just you and your child- so you stay up all night on look out so your child can sleep peacefully.
For us here at The Rogue Hippie, it is personal because we have been in their shoes, and we know what its like and how something as small as all natural skincare items can turn around someone's entire world.
